"Law of the Garbage Truck" Philosophy?

Got this from another mailing list.. would love to share it..

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.

We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.

As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so... Love the people who treat you right.

Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

ha.. ni pun first time aku buat cookies nih.. alhamdulillah sedap.. dah abih dah pun.. bawak balik kampung.. mak ayah aku pun suka.. so boleh la buat lagi.. ari tu aku buat half of the recipe… sebab tak sure akan jadik ke tak.. so since terbukti sedap.. this time around ingat nak buat full recipe la.. best best..

Moist Chocolate Cake

Hari ni aku buat chocolate cake plak..

Aku buat setelah sekian lama tak buat kek coklat.. kek lain tu dah buat 2 kali la.. setiap kali buat kek, anak aku mesti suruh buat coklat kek.. so ari ni aku buat choc cake lah.. actually bakak kek pe semua buat malam tadi.. masa ujan2 tu.. dengan udara yang nyaman.. bau kek coklat.. best betul! below gambar kek tu lepas masak.. abaikan je la yang tengah tu.. janji kek tu masak.. hehehe..

Bread Pudding with Cream Sauce

Last Friday buat pudding roti.. first time buat..

thanks to kak shana.. dia nye recipe la nih.. hehehe.. amek from the SSTF blog.. ni aku tempek the recipe.. kot ada yang nak cuba..

INGREDIENTS -
8 - 10 pieces of bread - buttered on one side, cut off the crusts on the sides, all cut into halves
(DO NOT throw the crusts away - cut into small pieces)
5 eggs
1 can of Evaporated Milk (preferably Carnation)
1 can of water (use the milk can)
1 cup of Fresh/UHT Milk
6 - 8 tbsp of fine granulated sugar
1 tsp Vanilla essence
Raisins


COOKING METHOD -
Bread & Butter Pudding
1. Spread butter on baking dish thinly - covering all surfaces
2. Line the dish with buttered bread pieces (with the un-buttered side facing inside)
3. Sprinkle raisins on top of bread base
4. Sprinkle the bread crusts pieces on top
5. Combine Eggs, Evaporated Milk, Fresh/UHT Milk, Water, Vanilla Essence and Sugar in a blender, and blend for 20-30 seconds.
6. Pour blended mixture into baking dish
7. Cut whatever left of buttered bread into halves, and arrange nicely on top of the mixture. Make sure all pieces are submerged in Egg/Milk mixture.
8. Cook in Dual Convection and Grill Microwave Oven at 230 C, at 70% Power for 15-16 minutes.
9. Once cooked, spread butter on top of the hot pudding until it's melted
10. Eat with warm Custard Cream Sauce.
Custard Cream Sauce
1. Combine 4 tbsp of Custard Powder with 4-5 tbsp sugar and 1 cup of milk taken from 1 litre pack of Fresh /UHT Milk. Mix Well. Set aside.
2. Bring the rest of the Milk to boil.
3. When it's nearly boiling, pour the milk into the Custard Mixture. Mix evenly.
4. Pour the mixture back into the pot and simmer and stir continuously.
5. Turn off heat immediately after it starts to boil.


Tadaaaaa... Siap untuk dimakan dengan B&B Pudding :)

Roti

petang semalam actually aku buat roti.. setelah 2 thn tak buat and menggunakan breadmaker yg ku beli itu.. baru semalam aku buat.. tu pun selepas di pujuk dek anak2 ku.. sebok betul diorang 2 3 hari ni dok suh buat roti la, pizza la, kek la, donut la.. letih laaaa…

so ni saje je la nak menempek gambar roti ku itu.. leh ganti roti gardenia.. hehe.. tapi lepas habis yg ni.. aku rasa beli je la kat kedai roti gardenia tu..  heheheh…

Masak2

Saja nak share apa yang aku masak.. semalam masak IKAN MASAK TIGA RASA.. the pix as below,

ari ni masak sup.. sup ayam.. tapi since dah biasa lauk sup ayam ni.. so tak de la amek gambornye.. hehehe
